After Attack
Before Attack
| Don't click on unknown links in your email/txts | Make a list of devices you have & patch them Regularly |
| Set up automated cloud backup of your devices (iCloud/OneDrive) | Use 2-factor Auth for your email and bank accounts |
| Keep your passwords long (unique) & use a password manager app | Use VPN to secure yourself on Open Wi-Fi hotspots |
During Attack
| Assess what happened and what's affected | Don't delete any backups |
| Inform authorities (Insurance, CERT, Police) if required | Look for any signs of unusual activities across all your devices |
| Don't use email if it is compromised | Ask for help |
After Attack
| Make a list of what you lost and how to get it back | Restore your information from backups |
| Continue to check whether it is all fine now on all your devices | Confirm how it happened and ensure that the same thing doesn't happen again |
